Festa di Liberazione
25 April 2008
Today, 25 April, is a national holiday here in Italy. It is the Anniversario della Liberazione (Liberation Day). It commemorates Italy’s liberation from German occupation during the Second World War. A true cause for celebration.
Since it’s also Friday and Disco 2000 time, here are a couple of freedom-themed tunes in honour of Liberazione:
Aretha Franklin’s Think (claymation style)
And Liberi Tutti by Turin-based synth rock band Subsonica
HAPPY LIBERATION DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Liberation Day to you as well–and yes, it’s a celebration for ALL Italians, not just the left. Sheesh.
Amen sister!!

Hey! Did you have a good weekend? We went to the mountains and walked around and had lunch. It was SO nice!
Ciao Cherrye! Yes, we had a very nice, yet exhausting, weekend. Yesterday shopping and park with the kids and today a day trip to Lake Como. Gorgeous! No sign of George C though. Maybe next time!
I’m curious. What did you have for lunch?

Just called in from Rubber slippers In Italy, and was delighted to see my name on your comment…thanks for coming over to my blog, and thanks for the link.
Where abouts did you go, when at Lake Como…we spent ten days in Argegno…and it was delightful, I didn;t want to come home.
Hi Anne! We visited Varenna for the day. Lovely but a bit more touristy than when I last went 10 years ago. It’s all George Clooney’s fault!
